Produced by ArtAsiaPacific, the Away With Words app is award-winning cinematographer Christopher Doyle’s celebration of how words and images collide to form new, often ironic associations. In this app, texts provide free associations, rather than definitions, inspired by found images. You, as “user” or collaborator, are encouraged to make your own associations; that is, to attach new words to existing or different images.
Says Christopher Doyle: “Away With Words comes from the streets. I walk a lot, so I feel it only fair to share my experiences: what attracts my attention, engages associations and suggests ideas.”
The app works offline so you can use it on the train, and whenever you have a connection it downloads the latest images and meanings from Christopher Doyle and other users as you browse them. Optionally get notifications whenever Christopher Doyle adds new photos.
